Museum of the Future Overview

Museum of the Future is not just another museum devoted to contemporary creativity, but much beyond that. Employing the latest in design, prototyping, and technological advancements, the museum – just as the name says – is solely developed to craft the real next-generation exhibits that will journey you 50 years into the future. It is where you get to discover the future of ever-dynamic science and innovation within its striking ring-like structure with a vast open center.

What To Expect?

Compelling Design Architecture
Museum of Future, at a height of 77 meters, is a true architectural marvel! Designed by the renowned architect – Shaun Killa, it features a strikingly oblong ring-shaped stainless steel exterior, with 1024 pieces created using the most advanced robot aided process. It is further enriched with the enlightening quotes of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which are engraved on it with the marvelous calligraphy of Mattar bin Lahej.

Step into a World of Trailblazing Creativity
Signifying the museum’s dynamic vision, the building has three sections where the green hill denotes the earth while the futuristic ring embodies humankind and its hollow portion depicts innovation. Moreover, with the majority of its interiors dedicated to groundbreaking inventions, you not only get to journey into future but also get the rare chance to feel, touch and reimagine the future in all possible ways, with its cool flying objects, capsule kind of elevators etc. There is also a viewing platform that promises an astonishing, detailed look at the museum’s architecture features.

Experience the Future of Nature, Space and Wellness
Sprawling over 30,000 square meters, each of the museum’s seven floors appears like a movie set from the cutting-edge future. They will transport you to the year 2071 and beyond. With everything from innovative space stations, stupefying DNA library and a futuristic spa to the most progressive in ecology, wellness, and spirituality, it lets you experience all that you have envisioned in a sci-fi magazine or movie.

An initiative by Dubai Future Foundation or DFF, the MOTF is unique from other museums around the world. The museum uses virtual reality, Augmented reality, and other modern technologies to help you take a peek at the future.

If you want to avoid crowds, the best time to visit Museum of the Future in Dubai is early morning, when the museum opens at 10 am. Weekends and holidays are the museum’s peak times. If you can, swing by during the weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) when it’s quieter and less crowded.

Three floors focus on outer space resource development, ecosystems and bioengineering, and health and wellbeing. The other floors showcase near-future technologies that address challenges in areas including health, water, food, transportation, and energy, while the last floor is dedicated to children.

Absolutely worth the tickets. We expected more from this beautiful museum but was quite disappointed. The tickets were sold out as it was a very last minute plan. We had to source from a third party and finally got the ticket more than normal price.

If you don’t speak Arabic, you might be wondering what is written on the Museum of the Future. Here is a translation of the poem by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum: “We might not live for hundreds of years, but the products of our creativity can leave a legacy long after we are gone.

The museum is divided into five different immersive experiences or chapters.

Guests may bring their food to consume in the lobby and gardens. Caregivers may bring snacks and drinks to the Future Heroes floor, but not past the entry barrier. No food or drink is allowed in the other exhibitions out of concern for the safety of all guests.

The design of the museum, inspired by feng shui, is best described as torus-shaped. The building rises 77 meters in the air atop a green hill. Its exterior is enveloped in Arabic calligraphy, making it a sight to behold.
